Tourist Visa

​Indian citizens planning to visit Argentina for tourism purposes are required to obtain a visa prior to their arrival. Fortunately, under a bilateral agreement, the tourist visa is free of cost for Indian nationals. The authorized stay period for a tourist visa is a maximum of 90 days. ​

1. E-Visa (Electronic Travel Authorization - AVE)

The E-Visa (AVE - Autorización Electrónica de Viaje) is a convenient option for Indian travelers who already hold a valid US, Schengen, or UK visa. This process allows applicants to apply online without visiting the consulate.

Requirements for AVE:

  • A valid B1/B2 (tourist) US visa or a Schengen C visa (valid for at least 6 months).
  • A passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
  • Return flight tickets and proof of accommodation (hotel booking or an invitation letter).
  • Financial proof (bank statements, salary slips, or tax returns).


How to Apply for AVE:

  • Visit the official Argentina visa portal and complete the AVE application form.
  • Pay the processing fee online.
  • Once approved, the E-Visa is sent via email, and travelers can enter Argentina without a visa stamp.

2. Consular Visa Application (Regular Tourist Visa)

For travelers without a valid US, Schengen, or UK visa, the standard consular process must be followed.

Steps to Apply via Consulate:

Book an appointment at the Argentine Embassy in New Delhi or the Consulate in Mumbai. Submit the required documents in person, including:

  • Completed visa application form.
  • Passport with at least 6 months validity.
  • Two passport-size photos (4x4 cm).
  • Cover letter explaining the trip's purpose.
  • Flight itinerary and hotel bookings.
  • Financial proof (bank statements, ITR, or salary slips).
  • Attend an interview at the consulate.

Visa processing takes around 8 business days, after which you can collect your passport.
