Chandigarh, the capital of both Punjab and Haryana, is India’s first planned city, designed by the renowned architect Le Corbusier. Known for its well-structured layout, wide roads, and lush greenery, the city serves as a perfect blend of modernity and nature. Key attractions include the Rock Garden, made from industrial and domestic waste, Sukhna Lake, a serene spot for boating and relaxation, and the Capitol Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Chandigarh is also home to prestigious institutions, vibrant markets like Sector 17, and a thriving food scene that reflects the diverse Punjabi culture. Beyond its architectural marvels, Chandigarh stands out for its high quality of life, efficient governance, and progressive urban planning. The city’s well-maintained gardens, such as the Rose Garden and Japanese Garden, contribute to its reputation as one of India’s cleanest and greenest cities. With a strong infrastructure, excellent healthcare, and a booming IT sector, Chandigarh continues to attract professionals and students alike. Its strategic location at the foothills of the Shivalik range also makes it a gateway to popular hill stations like Shimla and Kasauli, adding to its appeal as a favored destination.
