Explore Doodhpathri

Doodhpathri, a hidden gem in Kashmir, is a pristine alpine meadow known for its lush green pastures, rolling hills, and crystal-clear streams. Located about 42 km from Srinagar, this breathtaking valley gets its name from the Kashmiri word "Doodh" (milk) due to the milky-white appearance of its flowing waters. The Shaliganga River, with its cool, gushing waters, adds to the valley’s untouched beauty. Surrounded by dense pine forests and snow-capped mountains, Doodhpathri is a perfect escape for nature lovers seeking peace, solitude, and stunning landscapes. Unlike the more touristy spots in Kashmir, Doodhpathri remains relatively unexplored, offering an authentic and serene experience. Visitors can enjoy horse riding, picnicking by the river, or simply strolling through the vast meadows. The area is especially breathtaking in spring and summer, when the valley blooms with wildflowers, creating a mesmerizing carpet of colors. In winter, the valley transforms into a snow-covered wonderland, making it an excellent spot for snow trekking and photography. Whether you’re looking for adventure or tranquility, Doodhpathri is a must-visit destination in Kashmir, offering nature at its purest.
