Tourist Visa

A Switzerland Tourist Visa allows non-EU/EEA nationals to enter and stay in Switzerland for up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, family visits, or short business trips. It also grants access to all 27 Schengen countries.

As of November 2, 2015, applicants must provide biometric fingerprint data and a digital photograph at the Visa Application Centre with a prior appointment. Biometrics will be valid for the next 5 years after submission.

Required Documents:

1. Passports:

o Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and at least 2 blank pages.

o Original old passport booklets, if any.

2. Photographs:

o Two photographs.

o White background, glossy finish, 80% face coverage with a little shoulder visible.

o Eyes and face must be clearly visible.

o Dimensions: 45mm x 35mm.

3. Covering Letter:

o Addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of Switzerland.

o Brief profile of the applicants and the purpose of travel with travel dates.

o Can be on plain paper for individuals and on company letterhead for officials/sponsored applicants.

4. Bank Statements:

o Original 3 months personal and company's bank statements with the seal and signature from the bank.

o Should be of relevant and active accounts showing proof of funds and income.

o Closing date should be closer to the date of visa application (A4 size preferred).

5. IT Returns:

o Latest 3 years Income Tax Acknowledgement/ITR-V (Saral) of individuals and the company.

6. Itinerary / Air Tickets:

o Return air tickets with all internal flight/train tickets if any.

o Day-wise itinerary of the tour.

7. Purpose of Travel / Accommodation:

o Any proof of accommodation/purpose at the destination/Booking Certificate and payment receipts from the tour operator.

o Hotel vouchers.

8. Supporting Credentials:

   Businessmen:

o Proprietorship certificate / Certificate of Registration / Memorandum of Association / Articles of Association / Partnership Deed / PAN Card.

o NOC from other partners or Directors in case of partnership.

   Employees:

o Leave sanction letter from the company (from the Government body in case of Government employees/public servants).

o Last 3 months Salary Statements (only for Private firms).

o Company ID card (optional).

o Retirement Certificate or Letter / Copy of Pension Book (for retired employees).

o Pension statements for the last three months.

   Students:

o Leave sanction letter from the educational institution (for travel during working days).

o Bonafide Certificate from the educational institution (for travel during vacations).

o School/College ID card (optional).

   Newly Wed / Honeymooners (if the spouse's name is not endorsed in their passports):

o Marriage Certificate (Original).

o Wedding Invitation card/Photographs (in case the marriage certificate is not ready).

  Children Traveling Unaccompanied by Both Parents / Either Parent:

o A notary attested NOC on a stamp paper from both/either of the parent respectively if both/either of them are unaccompanied.

o Passport copies/copy of both/either of the parents.

o In case parents don't have passports, birth certificate of the applicant and copies of the ID cards of the parents.

   Travelers Unaccompanied by Spouses/Partners:

o A notary attested NOC on a stamp paper from the unaccompanied spouse.

o Passport copy of the unaccompanied spouse. If not a passport holder, any Govt ID Proof mentioning spouse's name can be submitted.

   Additional Supporting Documents if Available:

o FD Receipts from banks.

o Public shares/debentures certificate.

o Asset evaluation report from a CA.

9. Travel Insurance:

o Valid Travel Insurance from the Embassy-approved companies covering the days of travel with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.
