Tourist Visa
As of April 1, 2024, Japan has introduced a single-entry electronic visa (eVisa) system for Indian nationals intending to visit for short-term tourism. This eVisa simplifies the application process, allowing travelers to apply online without visiting a consulate or embassy.
Key Requirements for the Japan eVisa:
Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended date of entry into Japan.
Recent Photograph: A passport-sized color photograph taken within the last six months, featuring a plain white background.
Completed Application Form: Accurately filled out and signed online application form.
Proof of Financial Stability: Recent bank statements or income tax returns to demonstrate sufficient funds for your stay.
Travel Itinerary: Details of your planned activities in Japan, including flight bookings and accommodation reservations.
The standard processing time for the eVisa is approximately five working days from the date of application submission. It's advisable to apply well in advance of your planned travel dates to accommodate any unforeseen delays.
To apply for a Temporary Visitor Visa for Sightseeing in Japan without a guarantor, you need to prepare the following documents:
1 .Passports:
Original Passport:
o Must have at least 6 months validity.
o Must have at least 3 blank pages.
o Photocopy of the Bio Data Page of the current passport (First and Last Page)
o Original old passport booklets, if any.
2. Photographs:
Specifications:
o One photograph taken within the last 6 months.
o Size: 2 x 2 inches.
o Color with white background.
o Printed on good quality paper.
3. Covering Letter:
For Individuals/Families/Companies:
o Addressed to the Visa officer, Consulate-General of Japan.
o Brief profile of the applicants.
o Purpose of travel with travel dates.
o Day-to-day details of the visit.
For Officials/Sponsored Applicants:
o On company letterhead.
4 .Bank Statements:
Personal and Company's Bank Statements:
o Original 6 months statements with bank seal and signature.
o Relevant and active accounts showing proof of funds and income.
o Statements should be of a closing date close to the visa application date (A4 size preferred).
5. IT Returns:
Income Tax Acknowledgement / ITR-V (Saral):
o Recent returns for individuals and the company.
6. Itinerary / Air Tickets:
1. Tickets: Return air tickets with all internal flight/train tickets.
2. Itinerary: Day-wise itinerary of the tour.
3. Purpose of Travel / Accommodation: Details of travel, accommodation, and activities within Japan.
7. Supporting Credentials:
1. Businessmen:
o Proprietorship certificate / Certificate of Registration / Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association / Partnership Deed / PAN Card.
o NOC from other partners or directors in case of partnership.
2. Employees:
o Leave sanction letter from the company (or from the Government body in case of government employees/public servants).
o Last 3 months’ salary statements (only for private firms).
o Company ID card (optional).
o Retirement certificate or letter / Copy of Pension Book (for retired employees).
o Pension statements for the last three months.
3. Students:
o Leave sanction letter from the educational institution (for travel during working days).
o Bonafide Certificate from the educational institution (for travel during vacations).
o School/College ID card (optional).
4. Newly Wed / Honeymooners:
o Marriage certificate (Original).
o Wedding invitation card / Photographs (if the marriage certificate is not ready).
5. Children Traveling Unaccompanied:
o Notary attested NOC on a stamp paper from both/either parent.
o Passport copies of both/either parent.
o If parents don't have passports, birth certificate of the applicant and copies of the parents' ID cards.
6. Travelers Unaccompanied by Spouses/Partners:
o Notary attested NOC on a stamp paper from the unaccompanied spouse.
o Passport copy of the unaccompanied spouse (or any Govt ID Proof mentioning spouse name).

1. FD Receipts from banks.
2. Public Shares / Debenture Certificates.
3. Asset Evaluation Report from a CA.

To apply for a Business Affairs/Market Research/Conference Visa for Japan, the following documents and particulars are generally required:
