Located on the shores of Lake Victoria, Kisumu is Kenya's third-largest city and an important hub for trade and transport in western Kenya. Known for its serene lakeside environment, Kisumu serves as a gateway to the lake and surrounding regions, including Uganda and Tanzania. The city is a major center for fishing and agricultural trade, especially in sugarcane and rice production. Kisumu's charm lies in its vibrant markets, waterfront parks like Dunga Hill, and cultural spots like the Kisumu Museum. The city is also home to unique biodiversity, with opportunities to explore nearby islands and wetlands. Kisumu is rapidly growing, balancing modern infrastructure development with its rich Luo cultural heritage.
