Explore Naxos

Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades islands in Greece, is a captivating destination known for its blend of natural beauty, rich history, and traditional Greek culture. The island's main town, Chora, is a charming mix of narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and a Venetian castle that dominates the skyline. The iconic Portara, the remnants of a grand temple gate, stands proudly at the entrance to the old town, offering stunning views of the Aegean Sea. Naxos is dotted with ancient ruins, including the Temple of Demeter and the Kouros statues, reflecting its historical significance dating back to ancient Greece. Beyond its historical and cultural allure, Naxos is renowned for its diverse landscapes. The island offers everything from sandy beaches like Agios Prokopios and Plaka, ideal for swimming and sunbathing, to rugged mountains perfect for hiking and exploring. Naxos also boasts lush valleys, such as the Tragea Plain, and hidden caves, adding to its natural charm. Traditional villages like Apeiranthos and Filoti provide a glimpse into the island’s authentic Cycladic lifestyle, with their narrow streets, charming squares, and local tavernas serving delicious Greek dishes. Whether you’re seeking history, adventure, or relaxation, Naxos offers a quintessential Greek island experience.
