Gangtok & Darjeeling: A Tale of Two Hill Stations
Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is known for its serene monasteries, stunning views of Mount Kanchenjunga, and vibrant Tibetan culture. It's a gateway to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Himalayas, offering opportunities for trekking, nature walks, and exploring Buddhist culture.
Darjeeling, nestled in the Indian state of West Bengal, is famous for its world-renowned tea gardens, colonial-era architecture, and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage site. With panoramic views of the Himalayas and a rich blend of Indian, Tibetan, and Nepalese cultures, Darjeeling offers a charming and nostalgic experience.

IMPORTANT NOTES: 
Tiger Hill (Darjeeling) Token is subject to availability. Note: Only the driver can get a Tiger Hill permit by showing an RC book, and if the driver is unable to get the token then the guest will not be allowed to visit Tiger Hill in the morning. So, the driver number which we will give you, you once talk to the driver whether he has a permit or not for Tiger Hill. If he fails to get a permit then we will provide the service at the time
Nathula Pass: (Gangtok)
Nathula's visit is subject to the availability of a permit & road condition. Only limited permits are issued by the Sikkim Tourism Department before 24 hrs. of the tour, depending on road conditions to those travel agencies registered with the Sikkim Tourism Department on a Rotation basis. In case the permit is available one can opt for the trip with an extra charge of approx. Rs. 5,000/- per vehicle (Refundable). 
Nathula Pass can be clubbed on the same day as Tsomo Lake – Baba Mandir. However please note that Nathula Pass is closed on Monday.

Package Itinerary

Day 1 NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport – Gangtok (120 km / 5 hrs)

 Upon arrival at NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to Gangtok, which is approximately 120 kilometers away and takes about 5 hours by road. Once you arrive in Gangtok, (situated at an altitude of 5,500 feet), you will check into your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, allowing you to relax and acclimatize to the altitude. Enjoy an overnight stay in Gangtok, preparing for the adventures and sightseeing ahead in this picturesque hill town of Sikkim.


Day 2 Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Tsomgo Lake, located at an altitude of 12,400 feet, and Baba Mandir at 13,200 feet. The journey from Gangtok city covers approximately 55 kilometers one way and offers scenic views of the Himalayan landscape. Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, is a glacial lake surrounded by steep mountains and remains frozen during the winter months. Baba Mandir is a revered shrine dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a soldier of the Indian Army. After exploring these enchanting sites and soaking in the natural beauty, return to Gangtok for an overnight stay, filled with memories of your high-altitude adventure in Sikkim.


Day 3 Gangtok Local Sightseeing – Darjeeling (100 km / 4 hrs)

Begin your morning with a half-day tour of Gangtok city, exploring key attractions such as the Flower Show, showcasing local flora; the Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, highlighting traditional craftsmanship; the Institute of Tibetology, a center for Tibetan studies and culture; the Dro-dul Chorten, a stupa built to ward off evil spirits; the Enchey Monastery, offering insights into Tibetan Buddhism; and Banjakhri Falls, a serene waterfall amidst lush surroundings. This comprehensive tour spans 3-4 hours, after which you will drive to Darjeeling, a journey that takes you to an elevation of 6,950 feet. Upon arrival in Darjeeling, check in to your hotel and relax for the night, anticipating the scenic vistas and cultural experiences awaiting you in this charming hill station of West Bengal.

Day 4 Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early in the morning, around 4:00 am, embark on a scenic drive to Tiger Hill, situated at 8,400 feet, to witness the breathtaking sunrise over Mount Khangchendzonga, the third-highest peak in the world. Marvel at the changing colors of the Himalayan range as the sun rises, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. On your return journey, visit the serene Ghoom Monastery, renowned for its ancient Buddhist scriptures, and the Batasia Loop, a spiral railway track offering panoramic views of Darjeeling town and the snow-capped peaks. After breakfast, continue your exploration with visits to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, dedicated to mountaineering history and culture; the P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), showcasing Himalayan wildlife; Tenzing Rock, named after Tenzing Norgay, the first man to scale Everest; the Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (closed on Sundays), supporting Tibetan refugees with handicrafts; a scenic Tea Garden for an outer view; the Ropeway for stunning aerial views; and the serene Japanese Temple. Enjoy the evening at leisure for shopping or relaxation, culminating in an overnight stay in Darjeeling filled with unforgettable experiences of nature and culture.

Day 5 Darjeeling – NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport (75 km / 3 hrs)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Darjeeling. You will then proceed to take the departure transfer to NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport for your onward journey. This concludes your memorable trip to Gangtok and Darjeeling, filled with scenic views, cultural experiences, and cherished moments amidst the Himalayan landscapes.
