Your safari starts here, and we're as excited about getting going as you are. We're really looking forward to meeting you, introducing you to your guide, and taking you out on the first steps of your safari.Kenya's capital is your gateway to the national parks and reserves where you'll enjoy your safari. Nairobi is a dynamic, intriguing city, rich in local culture. It has a number of wildlife-themed attractions to help get you excited about what lies ahead. Nairobi also has wonderful restaurants serving a range of cuisines, as well as good nightlife, busy markets and excellent accommodation.
Visit the Giraffe Centre
You'll visit the Giraffe Centre, which combines serious conservation with unforgettable giraffe encounters. The elevated platform has fascinating information panels and allows you to come face-to-face with (and feed) endangered Rothschild's giraffes. Giraffes from here have been important for re-establishing wild herds across East Africa.

As convenient for the main airport as it is for a visit to Nairobi National Park, Ole Sereni adds a real touch of class to Nairobi's hotel scene. The hotel has fine facilities, among them a swimming pool, shops, bars, restaurants, a terrace with views over a corner of the national park, and rooms that are contemporary and supremely comfortable.
One of our favorite places to look for wildlife in Kenya is the Masai Mara National Reserve. That's because the wildlife here is incredible, with big cats (lions, leopards and cheetahs) and elephants among the highlights. There's a very good chance you'll also see giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and, of course, impalas. And bring your binoculars, because more than 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve. It's a place of beautiful savannah landscapes as well, with lots of acacia trees.

We think you'll love exploring Lake Naivasha, the highest (and one of the loveliest) of Kenya's Rift Valley lakes. Watch for hippos out on the lake, and for zebras and giraffes around the lakeshore.
Walking safari, Crescent Island Game Park
You'll never get tired of going on a walking safari, where you'll leave behind the vehicle and step out into the wild. It can be a little nerve-wracking at first, but you'll be walking with an experienced guide and it's very safe. It can be a real thrill walking in this way,and most people fall in love with the experience.
