Top of Europe – an incredibly fascinating train journey to the highest and most beautiful mountains in
Switzerland.
Mount Titlis is one of Switzerland's premier mountain destinations, known for its stunning scenery, year-round snow, and a wide range of activities. Part of the Uri Alps, Mount Titlis is located in the canton of Obwalden, near the town of Engelberg. It is easily accessible from major Swiss cities like Lucerne and Zurich.At 3,062 metres, the summit offers not only a breathtaking 360° panorama of the wide Engelberg valley but also a view straight down into the abyss, with countless crevasses carved into the glacial ice.
Things get really cool at the upper station, where a 150-metre-long artificial glacier cave cuts straight into the heart of the Titlis Glacier. The ceiling is covered in ice crystals, the glacial ice shimmers a mysterious blue, and crevasses open up in the roof. If you’re thinking of stepping inside the ice, be sure to wrap up warm, as the temperature under the 20-metre-thick glacier never gets above -1°C!

There are a host of fun activities on top of the glacier, too, such as the Ice Flyer glacier chairlift or the glacier park. Crossing the glacier and climbing to the summit is a special experience – naturally only under the supervision of a mountain guide.

Day 1 Arrival in Interlaken

Arrival in Interlaken by train. Time at leisure for optional excursions. Overnight in Interlaken.


Day 2 Jungfraujoch (4h)

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion from Interlaken up to the Jungfraujoch Top of Europe. The highest railway station in Europe is located at 3454 m. Visitors have access to a high-Alpine wonderland of ice, snow and rock, which they can admire from the viewing platforms on the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. The railway journey to the Jungfraujoch is an experience which leads through the Eiger and the Mönch. At the Eismeer and Eigerwand intermediate stations, visitors can enjoy the beautiful view from the Eiger North Face. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 3 Lucerne to Interlaken (1h50)

Breakfast at the hotel. Rail journey over the Brünig Pass to Lucerne. Day at leisure for optional excurions. Overnight inLucerne.

Day 4 Mount Titlis

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Mount Titlis at 3020 m. From Lucerne the train takes you to the mountain monastery village Engelberg where you board the 8-seater cable cars Titlis Xpress directly to Stand station. From there the world's first revolving cable car Ttitlis Rotair takes you straight up to the summit of Mount Titlis. For a spectacular close-up insight into a glacier, visit the glacier cave or ride the Ice Flyer chairlift. Get your thrills on the Titlis Cliff Walk,a spectacular suspension bridge at a height of 3041 m. Overnight in Lucerne.


Day 5 Lucerne and return journey

Breakfast at the hotel. Time at leisure and individual return journey.
