Important: Personal Interview
Applicants may be required to attend a personal interview with the Embassy or Consulate.
Required Documents and Particulars
1. Passports
o Original Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months and have at least 3 blank pages.
o Photocopy: Bio Data Page (First and Last Page) of the current passport.
o Old Passport: Original old passport booklets, if any.
2. Photographs
o Specifications: One recent photograph (taken within the last 6 months), size 35mm x 45mm, bare-head, full face, color with white background, and printed on good quality paper.
3. Covering Letter
o Addressed to: The Visa Officer, Embassy of Afghanistan.
o Content: Brief profile of the applicant(s), purpose of travel, travel dates, and a day-to-day itinerary.
o Format: On plain paper for individuals, and on company letterhead for officials or sponsored applicants.
4. Bank Statements
o Original: 6 months personal and company's bank statements with original seal and authorized signatory signature.
o Relevance: Statements should be from relevant and active accounts showing proof of funds and income.
o Closing Date: Should be close to the date of the visa application (A4 size preferred).
5. Itinerary / Air Tickets
o Return Air Tickets: Including all internal flight/train tickets if any.
o Day-wise Itinerary: Detailed day-to-day itinerary of the tour.
6. Purpose of Travel / Accommodation
o Accommodation Proof: Booking certificate and payment receipts from the tour operator.
o Invitation Letter: Must have an invitation letter approved by the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
o Hotel Reservation: Proof of confirmed hotel booking.
7. Supporting Credentials
o Polio (OPV) Certificate: A valid OPV certificate is required. The dose should be taken at least four weeks prior to departure from India.
For Businessmen:
o Certificates: Proprietorship certificate, Certificate of Registration, Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, Partnership Deed, PAN Card.
o NOC: From other partners or directors in case of a partnership.
For Employees:
o Leave Sanction Letter: From the company (Government body for government employees/public servants).
o Salary Statements: Last 3 months (for private firms).
o Company ID Card: Optional.
o Retirement Certificate/Letter: Or copy of the pension book (for retired employees).
o Pension Statements: For the last three months.
For Students:
o Leave Sanction Letter: From the educational institution (for travel during working days).
o Bonafide Certificate: From the educational institution (for travel during vacations).
o School/College ID Card: Optional.
For Newly Weds/Honeymooners (if the spouse's name is not endorsed in their passports):
o Marriage Certificate: Original.
o Wedding Invitation Card/Photographs: In case the marriage certificate is not ready.
For Children Traveling Unaccompanied by Both Parents/One Parent:
o NOC: From both parents mentioning whether they are accompanying or not.
o Passport Copies: Of both/either parent.
o Birth Certificate: If parents don't have passports, and copies of the ID cards of the parents.
For Travelers Unaccompanied by Spouses/Partners:
o NOC Letter: From the unaccompanied spouse.
o Passport Copy: Of the unaccompanied spouse. If not a passport holder, any government ID proof mentioning the spouse's name.
