Tourist Visa
For Indian nationals planning to visit the Bahamas, a visa waiver is available under certain conditions. Additionally, general requirements for a tourist visa application are outlined below.
Visa Waiver Conditions for Indian Nationals
Indian nationals do not require a visa to visit the Bahamas if they meet the following conditions:
• Visa Holders: They hold a valid visa issued by Canada, the United Kingdom, the USA, or any Schengen Member State for a maximum stay of 90 days.
• Permanent Residence Permit Holders: They hold a Permanent Residence Permit issued by the United Kingdom or any Schengen Member State for a maximum stay of 90 days.
• USA Permanent Resident/Resident Alien Card Holders (Form I-551): For a maximum stay of 30 days.
• Canada Permanent Resident Card Holders: For a maximum stay of 30 days.
Important Note:
Applicants are required to submit their biometrics at the Visa Application Center with a prior appointment.
Documents Required for a Tourist Visa Application
• Original Passport: Must have at least 6 months validity and at least 2 blank pages.
• Original Old Passport Booklets: If any.
2 .Photographs
• Quantity: 2 photographs each.
• Specifications:
• White background
• Glossy finish
• 80% face covered with a little shoulder visible
• Eyes and face must be clearly visible
• Dimensions: 45mm x 35mm
3. Covering Letter
• Addressed to: The Visa Officer, British Deputy High Commission, Chennai.
• Details:
• Brief profile of the applicants
• Purpose of travel with travel dates
• On plain paper for individuals and on company letterhead for officials/sponsored applicants
4. Bank Statements
• Original Bank Statements:
• Personal and company’s bank statements for the last 6 months.
• Must have the seal and signature from the bank.
• Should show proof of funds and income.
• Should be of relevant and active accounts.
• Preferably close to the visa application date.
• Preferred size: A4.
5. IT Returns
• Latest 3 years: Income Tax Acknowledgement/ITR-V (Saral) for individuals and the company.
Itinerary / Air Tickets
• Return Air Tickets: Include all internal flight/train tickets if any.
• Day-wise Itinerary: Detailed itinerary of the tour.
Purpose of Travel / Accommodation
• Proof of Accommodation/Purpose:
• Booking Certificate and payment receipts from the tour operator.
• Hotel vouchers.
Supporting Credentials
• Businessmen:
• Proprietorship Certificate/Certificate of Registration.
• Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association.
• Partnership Deed.
• PAN Card.
• NOC from other partners or Directors in case of partnership.
• Employees:
• Leave sanction letter from the company (Government body for public servants).
• Last 3 months' salary statements (for private firms).
• Company ID card (optional).
• Retirement Certificate/Letter or Copy of Pension Book (for retired employees).
• Pension statements for the last three months.
• Students:
• Leave sanction letter from the educational institution (for travel during working days).
• Bonafide Certificate from the educational institution (for travel during vacations).
• School/College ID card (optional).
• Newly Wed / Honeymooners:
• Marriage Certificate (Original).
• Wedding Invitation card/Photographs (if the marriage certificate is not ready).
• Children traveling unaccompanied by both parents/either parent:
• Notary attested NOC on a stamp paper from both/either parent respectively.
• Passport copies of both/either parent.
• If parents don't have passports, birth certificate of the applicant and copies of the ID cards of the parents.
• Travelers unaccompanied by spouses/partners:
• Notary attested NOC on a stamp paper from the unaccompanied spouse.
• Passport copy of the unaccompanied spouse or any Govt ID proof mentioning spouse name.
Additional Supporting Documents (if available)
• FD Receipts from banks.
• Public shares/debentures certificates.
• Asset evaluation report from a CA.
