Tourist Visa

Indian citizens generally need a tourist visa to visit Jordan. They can apply for a single-entry tourist visa upon arrival at the airport or obtain one in advance through an online e-visa portal. 

To apply for a tourist visa to Jordan, the following documents and particulars are required:

1. Passports:

1. Original Passport:

o Must have at least 6 months validity.

o Must have at least 2 blank pages.

2. Old Passport:

o Original old passport booklets, if any.

2. Photographs:

1. Specifications:

o 2 photographs.

o White background.

o Glossy finish.

o 80% face coverage with a little shoulder visible.

o Eyes and face clearly visible.

o Dimensions: 45mm x 35mm.

3. Covering Letter:

1. General Requirements:

o A covering letter per individual/family/company addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of Jordan.

o The covering letter should brief the purpose of travel.

o Cover letter from the applicant's employer.

2. For Officials/Sponsored Applicants:

o Covering letter on company letterhead.

4. Bank Statements:

1. Personal and Company's Bank Statements:

o Original 6 months statements with bank seal and signature.

o Minimum balance of INR 80,000.

o Relevant and active accounts showing proof of funds and income.

o Statements should be of a closing date close to the visa application date (A4 size preferred).

5. Itinerary / Air Tickets:

1. Tickets:

o Return air tickets with all internal flight/train tickets, if any.

2. Itinerary:

o Day-wise itinerary.

6. Purpose of Travel / Accommodation:

1. Hotel Confirmation:

o Proof of hotel booking for the entire stay.

 Visa on Arrival (VOA) for Indian Nationals:

Effective 01st December 2019, Indian nationals can apply for a Visa on Arrival in Jordan only if they have a residence permit or a valid visa from:

USA

Canada

Australia

Japan

South Korea

European Union/European states including the United Kingdom

Additional Information

  • Jordan Pass: Consider purchasing the Jordan Pass, which includes visa fee waiver (if staying for at least 3 nights) and entry to many tourist attractions.
  • Exit Tax: A departure tax of 10 Jordanian Dinars may apply when leaving Jordan by land; this is usually included in airline tickets for air departures.
