Tourist Visa
Indian passport holders are required to obtain a sticker visa before traveling to Nicaragua.
Visa Requirements for Nicaragua
- Visa-Exempt Countries: Citizens of many countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and all European Union member states, can enter Nicaragua without a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Upon arrival, these travelers are required to purchase a Tourist Card for approximately US$10.
- Countries Requiring a Visa: Nationals from countries not on the visa-exempt list must obtain a tourist visa prior to arrival. This includes travelers from countries such as India, China, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and others.
Required Documents:
- Passport: Valid for at least 6 months with a minimum of 3 blank pages.
- Photographs: Two recent passport-sized color photos.
- Visa Application Forms: Two completed and signed forms.
- Cover Letter: Explaining the purpose of travel.
- Bank Statement: Last 3 months' statements with bank seal.
- Flight Tickets: Proof of return flight bookings.
- Hotel Reservations: Proof of accommodation for the entire stay.
- Travel Itinerary: Day-wise plan of your trip.
Additional Documents Based on Occupation:
- Employed: Leave sanction letter and last 3 months' salary slips.
- Self-Employed: Business registration documents and company bank statements.
- Students: Valid student ID card.
- Retired: Proof of retirement benefits.
Central American Single Visa (CA-4)
Nicaragua is part of the CA-4 Agreement, allowing travelers to visit Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua with a single visa. This visa is valid for up to 90 days across all four countries.
Tips for Travelers
- Yellow Fever Vaccination: If you're arriving from a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission, a vaccination certificate is required.
- Tourist Card: All visitors must purchase a $10 USD tourist card upon arrival.
- Application Timing: It's advisable to apply for the visa at least 1–3 months before your intended travel date to accommodate processing times.
