Tourist Visa

To visit Bhutan as a tourist, the visa application process varies depending on your nationality.

1. For Nationals of India, Bangladesh, and Maldives

• Visa Requirement: Not required for entry.​
• Entry Permit: Required for travel beyond designated border towns.​
• Required Documents:
• Valid Passport or Voter ID card (for Indian nationals).
• Recent passport-sized photograph.
• Travel insurance.
• For children under 18: Birth certificate or equivalent document.​
• Application Process: Entry permits can be obtained upon arrival at border entry points.​

2. For Nationals of Other Countries

• Visa Requirement: Mandatory.​
• Application Process:

           Apply online through the Bhutan Immigration Services Portal.

          Alternatively, apply via a licensed Bhutanese tour operator or hotel.​

• Required Documents:

          Valid passport with at least six months' validity from the intended date of departure.

          Recent passport-sized photograph.

          Travel insurance.​

• Visa Fee: USD 40 per person (non-refundable).
• Sustainable Development Fee (SDF):

          USD 100 per person per day.

          Children aged 6 to 12: 50% discount.

          Children below 6 years: Exempted.​
