Tourist Visa
Required Documents:
1. Passports:
o Original passport with at least 6 months validity and at least 2 blank pages.
o Good quality scanned copy of the page with photo and address page – both on one side of an A4 sheet.
o Original old passport booklets if any.
2. Photographs:
o One color photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) with a light-colored background.
o The applicant should be directly facing the camera, without dark/tinted glasses or any headgear (except for those who wear headgear for ethnic/religious reasons, as shown in their passport photo).
3. Covering Letter:
o A covering letter per individual/family/company addressed to The Visa Officer, Consulate General of Russia.
o The letter should brief the profile of the applicants and the purpose of travel with travel dates.
o The covering letter can be on plain paper for individuals and on company letterhead for officials/sponsored applicants.
4. Purpose of Travel / Accommodation:
o Tourist confirmation letter (fax or scanned copy) stating that the tourist is going to be hosted by a Russian organization authorized to carry out tour operator activities and registered in the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators under a unique reference number.
o The letter should include all vital data of the tourist (full name, date of birth, sex, nationality, and passport number), duration of stay (date of entry and exit), number of entries granted by the visa, full title of the Russian tour operator issuing the invitation, its unique reference number (MVT), and the list of paid tourist services (transport, accommodation, excursions, etc.).
o The letter must have the personal signature of the head of the tour agency together with the organization’s official seal.
o The confirmation must be in Russian language and must show the Agency's Reference Number and Registration Number.
o Any proof of accommodation/purpose at the destination, booking certificates, and payment receipts from the tour operator.
Make sure all documents are correctly prepared and submitted to ensure a smooth visa application process for Russia.
Important Note for Russia Tourist Visa
• Double-Entry Tourist Visas:
o These visas are issued for trips that include an exit to Russia’s bordering countries only.
o Additional required documents may include:
An air ticket to the second destination.
A visa or any other document allowing entry to the country of the second destination (original + copy).
• Multiple-Entry Tourist Visas:
o Additional documents may be required.
• Consular Office Discretion:
o The Consular Office reserves the right to:
Request additional documents.
Invite the applicant for an interview.
Extend the visa processing time up to 30 days.
Applicants should be prepared to provide any additional documentation and allow for potential delays in processing.
