Tourist visa

For a tourist visa to Uruguay, you'll need to provide the following documents:

Required Documents and Particulars

1. Passports

Original Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months.

Photocopies: Data and amendment pages of the passport.

Old Passport Booklets: Submit original old passport booklets if applicable.

2. Photographs

Passport-sized Photos: 2 photographs with a white background.

Visa Application Form: Duly filled in.

3. Covering Letter

Addressed to: The Visa Officer, Consulate General of Uruguay.

Content: Brief the profile of the applicants, purpose of travel, travel dates, and a day-to-day itinerary.

Format: Can be on plain paper for individuals and on company letterhead for officials/sponsored applicants.

4. Bank Statements

Original Statements: Last 3 months’ personal and company’s bank statements with the seal and signature from the bank.

Details: Should show proof of funds and income from relevant and active accounts.

Preferred Format: A4 size with a closing date closer to the date of visa application.

Credit/Debit Card: Photocopy of both sides of credit or debit card (excluding PIN).

5. IT Returns

Latest 3 Years: Income Tax Acknowledgement / ITR-V (Saral) for individuals and the company.

6. Itinerary / Air Tickets

Return Air Tickets: Include all internal flight/train tickets if applicable.

Day-wise Itinerary: Provide a detailed itinerary of the tour.

7. Purpose of Travel / Accommodation

Proof of Accommodation: Any proof of accommodation, purpose at the destination, booking certificate, and payment receipts from the tour operator.

For Cruises: A covering letter from the tourist company confirming hotel booking in Uruguay.

Invitation Letter: From Uruguay or hotel reservation made under the traveler’s name.

Confirmed Hotel Booking: In Uruguay.

8. Supporting Credentials

Businessmen:

Documents: Proprietorship certificate / Certificate of Registration / Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association / Partnership Deed.

NOC: From other partners or directors in case of a partnership.

Employees:

Leave Sanction Letter: From the company (or from the Government body in case of government employees/public servants).

Salary Statements: Last 3 months' salary statements (only for private firms).

Company ID Card: Optional.

Retirement Certificate: Or letter / Copy of Pension Book (for retired employees).

Pension Statements: For the last three months.

Students:

Leave Sanction Letter: From the educational institution (for travel during working days).

Bonafide Certificate: From the educational institution (for travel during vacations).

School/College ID Card: Optional.

Newlywed/Honeymooners (if the spouse's name is not endorsed in their passports):

Marriage Certificate: Original.

Wedding Invitation Card/Photographs: In case the marriage certificate is not ready.

Children Traveling Unaccompanied by Both Parents/Either Parent:

Notary Attested NOC: On INR 100/- stamp paper from both/either of the parents if unaccompanied.

Passport Copies: Copy of both/either of the parents.

Birth Certificate: If parents don't have passports, along with copies of the ID cards of the parents.

Travelers Unaccompanied by Spouses/Partners:

Notary Attested NOC: On a stamp paper from the unaccompanied spouse.

Passport Copy: Of the unaccompanied spouse. If not a passport holder, any government ID proof mentioning the spouse’s name can be submitted.

9. Additional Supporting Documents (if available)

FD Receipts: From banks.

Public Shares/Debentures Certificate: As proof of investments.

Asset Evaluation Report: From a Chartered Accountant (CA).

Important Note:

You may be asked to attend a visa interview with a Consular Officer in person. Ensure all documents are accurate and complete to avoid delays.
